## 1. COMMISSIONER'S LETTER

Welcome to the first chapter of hockey's next universe.

Four franchises. Four cities. Four stadiums unlike anything the sport has ever seen. The Founding Four didn't inherit a legacy — they're building one, game by game, goal by goal, starting today.

This is the origin story of PuckGold.

— The Office of the Commissioner, PuckGoldBiz (PGB)

## 2. THE FOUNDING FOUR

### 🦎 MIAMI MIGHTY GECKZ

**Nickname:** The Neon Underdogs
**Colors:** Neon Turquoise · Sunset Orange · Electric Pink
**Motto:** "Small creature. Massive heart."
**Identity:** Fast, flashy, creative, never quit.

**Home: Neon Reef Stadium**
An open-air, oceanfront rink built for a party. Neon-lit boards throw turquoise and pink light across the ice. Palm trees ring the upper concourse, a yacht dock sits just beyond the glass, and the arena's tropical luxury suites turn every home game into a beach-club event. Night games under the palms are the Geckz' signature.

### 🐦 MCLEAN CARDINALS

**Nickname:** The Empire
**Colors:** Cardinal Red · Gold · Black
**Motto:** "Precision creates champions."
**Identity:** Disciplined, elite, defensive powerhouse, championship mentality.

**Home: Cardinal Perch Gardens**
A refined arena built into a formal park, framed by ancient oak trees and sharp red-glass architecture. Tiered stone terraces serve as seating, glass canopies shelter the concourse, and a championship plaza greets fans at the main gate. Everything here says *dynasty*.

### 🏛️ WASHINGTON WHOOMP!

**Nickname:** The Capital Shockwave
**Colors:** Navy · Silver · White
**Motto:** "Make history."
**Identity:** Intelligent, strategic, tactical, heavyweight presence.

**Home: The District Dome**
A monumental domed arena inspired by classic civic architecture — grand columns, a glass roof patterned with stars, and sightlines to a reflecting pool and cherry blossoms outside. A 360-degree scoreboard hangs at center ice. Everything about it is built to feel historic.

### 🚂 CHATTANOOGA CHOO CHOO

**Nickname:** The Railroad Rebels
**Colors:** Steel Gray · Copper · Midnight Blue
**Motto:** "Every journey starts here."
**Identity:** Tough, blue-collar, physical, fan favorite.

**Home: Terminal Arena**
A converted historic train station turned hockey barn — exposed brick, heavy timber trusses, industrial steel ironwork, and arched windows overlooking a vintage locomotive on the tracks outside. A restored clock tower looms over the entrance. The goal horn is modeled on a steam-engine whistle, and it shakes the rafters every time it sounds.

## 3. TOURNAMENT FORMAT & RULES

**Stage One — Round Robin Qualifier:** Each of the four teams plays the other three exactly once (6 games total), establishing seeding for the playoffs.

**Stage Two — Semifinal Knockout:** #1 seed vs. #4 seed, #2 seed vs. #3 seed. Winners advance to the Championship.

**Stage Three — The Golden Final:** A best-of-two aggregate-goals series. The team with the higher combined goal total across both games wins the PuckGold Cup. If aggregate is tied after Game Two, the series goes to sudden-death overtime.

### Scoring System

| Result | Points |
|--------|--------|
| Regulation Win | 3 |
| Overtime/Shootout Win | 2 |
| Overtime/Shootout Loss | 1 |
| Regulation Loss | 0 |

### Official Tiebreakers (in order)

1. Head-to-head result
2. Goal differential
3. Total goals scored
4. Fewest goals allowed
5. Sudden-death shootout

## 4. ROUND ROBIN SCHEDULE & RESULTS

Each team hosts one showcase game at their home stadium during the round robin, so all four venues get their moment in the spotlight before the tournament moves to neutral ice.

| Game | Matchup | Venue | Result |
|------|---------|-------|--------|
| G1 | McLean Cardinals vs. Chattanooga Choo Choo | Terminal Arena | McLean 4 – 1 |
| G2 | Washington Whoomp! vs. Miami Mighty Geckz | The District Dome | Washington 3 – 2 (OT) |
| G3 | Miami Mighty Geckz vs. Chattanooga Choo Choo | Neon Reef Stadium | Miami 4 – 2 |
| G4 | McLean Cardinals vs. Washington Whoomp! | Cardinal Perch Gardens | McLean 5 – 2 |
| G5 | Washington Whoomp! vs. Chattanooga Choo Choo | Neutral Ice | Washington 4 – 3 |
| G6 | Miami Mighty Geckz vs. McLean Cardinals | Neutral Ice | McLean 3 – 2 |

**The Storyline:** McLean looks unbeatable from the opening faceoff, running the table 3-0. Washington plays solid, controlled hockey to lock up the #2 seed. Miami stumbles early, splitting a tight OT loss and a comeback win, and needs everything to break right in Game 6 — they don't get the win, but they hang on to steal the #3 seed over Chattanooga on goal differential in the tournament's final seconds of round-robin play. Chattanooga, despite the 0-3 record, wins the fans over with its physical, never-back-down style.

---

## 5. STANDINGS

| Seed | Team | Record | PTS | GF | GA | GD |
|------|------|--------|-----|----|----|-----|
| #1 | McLean Cardinals | 3-0-0 | 9 | 12 | 5 | +7 |
| #2 | Washington Whoomp! | 2-1-0 | 6 | 9 | 10 | -1 |
| #3 | Miami Mighty Geckz | 1-1-1 | 4 | 8 | 8 | 0 |
| #4 | Chattanooga Choo Choo | 0-3-0 | 0 | 6 | 12 | -6 |

**Tiebreaker note:** Miami claims the #3 seed over Chattanooga via head-to-head result and goal differential — the swing that keeps the Geckz' championship dream alive.

## 7. THE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES — FULL RECAP

### Semifinals

**McLean Cardinals 6, Chattanooga Choo Choo 2** — McLean's depth and discipline overwhelm a tired Chattanooga squad; the Cardinals cruise into the final.

**Miami Mighty Geckz 3, Washington Whoomp! 2 (OT)** — The #3 seed shocks the #2 seed on a clutch breakaway goal in overtime. The Geckz are going to the Final.

### The Golden Final — Best-of-Two Aggregate

**Game One — Cardinal Perch Gardens**
McLean's defense is clinical from the drop of the puck. Final: **McLean 3, Miami 1.** Miami enters Game Two trailing 3-1 on aggregate — a two-goal mountain to climb, on the road, against the tournament's most dominant team.

**Game Two — Neon Reef Stadium — "The Miracle Game"**

**1st Period:** McLean strikes early and often, scoring twice on the power play. Score: McLean 2, Miami 0. Aggregate: McLean 5, Miami 1. The Geckz look finished.

**2nd Period:** Miami finally finds its footing. A power-play goal, then a converted penalty shot pull them back into the game. Score: McLean 3, Miami 2. Aggregate: McLean 6, Miami 3.

**3rd Period — The Comeback:** Miami scores three unanswered goals in a wild final frame — the building shaking with every one. The game is tied 4-4, and the aggregate is knotted at 6-6 with under a minute to play.

**Overtime — Sudden Death:** McLean presses, gets a shot blocked, and the rebound springs Miami on a breakaway. One-on-one with the goaltender, Miami's star winger pulls off a signature triple-deke and buries it top shelf.

**FINAL SCORE: Miami Mighty Geckz 5, McLean Cardinals 4**
**Aggregate: Miami wins 6-5**
